My name is Darcy Evans and I am a freelance photographer specializing in candid pet photography, I was born and raised in Edmonton. I have an incredible woman who stands behind me in all my endeavors.
I have always been fascinated by the creative process, but have zero artistic abilities as far as drawing or painting goes. The camera allows me to use my eye and not my hands.
I have always loved the beauty that can be found in the simplest things around us. Capturing the nuances of light and shadow fascinate me and it is my desire that my photography to reflect this. Candid moments of my clients and their pets doing things they love are a passion for me.
What sets Darcy apart from other photographers is his ability to connect with animals. He has an immeasurable ability to interact with animals and bring out their personalities.
Darcy has won numerous awards including the McBain Camera annual photography competition twice, and recent two Honors of Distinction Silver awards from the 2015 WPPI print competition. Darcy also teaches pet photography for Burwell School of Photography.
“Darcy is an amazing photographer. When I had my first photoshoot with Darcy I was nervous and he put me totally at ease. Cracked jokes and showed me some of the pictures he took so I could see what I looked like. It was amazing to see what you can look like when Darcy shoots you. He seems to be able to find your personality in the shoot and bring it out in each picture. I love shooting with Darcy and will continue to do so and I recommend him to everyone I know.” – Samantha
